Description
BookBox | Multi is an ideal solution for libraries and their users. The device as an intelligent pick-up locker for library resources works on a similar principle to popular parcel lockers. The library staff can operate the device directly via a touch screen or remotely using dedicated software. The modular design allows the expansion of the book locker with additional modules, thus increasing the number of available lockers and the capacity of the device itself. Readers can easily pick up and return their books at any time and date convenient for them. All this makes access to library collections much easier and more pleasant.
Background
Extension of the existing offer of devices for libraries. Creation of a modern pick-up locker as a device that meets the expectations of readers and public libraries.
Process
Competition and market research including consultations with employees and the administration of one of the public libraries in order to determine the legitimacy of creating a new device and learn about specific expectations and requirements regarding the operation of this type of device.
2. Project
Preparation of initial project documentation including:
- Project schedule
- Ideational project with key assumptions, functionalities and requirements
- Risk analysis
- Selection of components and technologies
- Electrical diagram
- BOM preparation
- 3D model of the device and 2D documentation of individual components
Start of production of the device, including:
- Constructive adaptation of a locker base purchased from one of the business partners
- 3D printing of designed components
- Production of steel components (cutting, welding, varnishing, etc.)
- Electrical prefabrication of the device
- Development of software based on the Raspberry Pi 4B driver (Python, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
- Integration of used component devices into one working system
- Device commissioning, measurements and tests
Creation of the final documentation of the device, including:
- User's manual together with technical and operational documentation - DTR
- Electrical documentation - diagram, BOM list
- Construction documentation - technical drawings, BOM list
- CE Declaration of Conformity
